well, most adults end up sleeping next to someone in life, for instance a husband or wife so I don't see any reason to move kids to their own bed until they are ready. we cosleep with 3 kids currently in 2 different beds in our room, kids take turns sleeping different places and with mom or dad etc.
it works for us. I also have very indepent and self sleepers in their teens and twenties with no sleep issues.
While cosleeping seems like a great arrangement for proponents of attachment parenting, how long should you let your child sleep in the adult bed? When does a parent or caregiver need to be concerned about a child developing independant sleep habits and being able to self comfort and soothe in the manner in which he/she will sleep later in life?
