smile I have shared my bed with all five of my children, there is only 2 left. I wouldn't have it any other way. We are all safe and worry free. When they are ready to leave they will. About 3 years old they start to get the idea for themselves. We are one of the only countries that don't sleep with our children and we are the only country with SIDS. Explain that one.  We as adults go to sleep every night with someone so we aren't alone, children don't want to be alone either. So go ahead and have a happy child and happy bed. Good luck.

I have 3 children all were breastfed and stayed with my husband and I until almost three. They are different ages so each child had his or her OWN bonding time. I felt in my heart it was the right thing to do. It is great to know I did the right thing and that my children are confident and secure because of my choice.  I know some people may think this choice is wrong pedi especially but at least us moms have studies to back up the co-sleeping choices we make.

is baby sleeping inbetween you and your husband?

try sleeping with baby on the other side of you so dad doesn't get bothered.

I just had my 2nd child, and would like to cosleep with her, but it makes my husband nervous- he often awakens both of us to move her to his bassinet, and we all get less sleep.  does anyone have advice to help ease his worries?

to the previous poster:  Maybe your baby wakes during the night but is not hungry.  i cosleep with my daughter because i get more sleep that way.  She often wakes during the night and just wants a pacifier or to otherwise be comforted (very occasionally she'll need a little walk around the room).  I sometimes resort to feeding her if i'm just to sleepy to figure out if something else is wrong and the pacifier doesn't pacify immediately.

I love bed sharing with my 7 month old, but i find that doing so causes him to want to breastfeed more often than he would if he is in his bassinette.  he has almost outgrown his bassinette, so i was hoping to bed-share from now on, but I feel like i'm getting less sleep by doing so (even though i really want to have him in the bed).
anyone have any thoughts or do i need to consider buying a crib :( ?
thanks.
Libby

Hi SandraD. Thanks for joining in the poll and the forums. Glad to hear co-sleeping is working for your family. If you have any tips you think could help all of us cosleepers just add them on the tips page.

Our bedroom is off of the livingroom so after our son goesto sleep we just lay him in bed. He sometimes wakes up but I can usuall just slip in bed next to him and nurse him back to sleep and sometimes sneak off again. Lately I just fall asleep too. lol.

As more mothers choose to breastfeed co-sleeping becomes more common. Breastfed babies need to nurse throughout the night and sleeping next to your baby means mom and baby don't have to get fully woken. No crying and more sleep for everyone. Well, most of the time.

Please take the poll and join in the talk.
